Korell Family

The Wind River Heritage Museum was the vision of Jake Korell, a local trapper. He was born in 1914 and trapped from age 7 until March 6, 2013, which is the day he died. He was one month shy of 99 years old when he passed. In almost a century, he amassed quite a collection that we are honored to display.

He and his son, Gerald Korell; daughter-in-law, Iva Korell; daughter, Jane Maller; and son-in-law, Scott Maller trapped, hunted, tanned and mounted most of the mounts in the museum. Korell Family
